A Statement from the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee
Today, New York City was attacked by a lone wolf driver who killed eight innocent people on a Manhattan bike path, injuring at least a dozen more.
This shameful and barbaric act does not represent our religion, Islam, and the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee condemns it in the strongest possible terms. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, and with all who are struggling to recover.
New Yorkers of all backgrounds are mourning today, and we pray that the actions of one deeply troubled man will not be used to divide our city’s communities. As Muslim- and Pakistani-Americans, we standard with all our neighbors against violence, terrorism, and hate.
May God protect and keep us all.
